Thanks to donations at festivalCHAT and PilgrimCHAT, the CHAT Standing Committee is offering 3 bursaries of \u00a375 to attend the Lisbon conference. Details to be announced soon on the main CHAT website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizing committee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e2nia Manuel Casimiro<\/a> (NOVA University of Lisbon) and Rui Gomes Coelho<\/a> (Durham University, UK), are archaeologists who work in the fields of historical and contemporary archaeology, focusing on topics such as colonialism and decolonization, globalization, slavery, migrations, industrialization and heritage management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference venue will be the Padr\u00e3o dos Descobrimentos<\/a> in the riverside neighborhood of Bel\u00e9m. The padr\u00e3o<\/em> is accessible by public transportation (train, tram, bus) from Lisbon\u2019s city center (30 minutes) and Lisbon\u2019s international airport (1 hour). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We very much hope to come together to meet in person in Lisbon for our first face-to-face meeting since 2019. At this early stage we cannot give any firm statements regarding our policy regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. We will adhere to all public health guidelines that are in place in Portugal to ensure that participants are as safe as possible. We will be sure to communicate a more detailed policy and guidelines closer to the date of the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
